A while ago I saw somewhere online a Sony amplifier that was massive and far closer to something like a Pass Labs X-600 then the current crop of Sony products. It might have even been a monoblock, I can't recall. Has anyone seen or heard of such a unit? I'd love to get the model number and look into it a bit more. Thanks.

You guys are awesome. That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the GREAT links too, and of course for the repair manual. Anyone have one of these? I'm curious what you think of it.
I have an "aquaintance" who bought a set of both pre- and power amp secondhand around '05, drove Martin Logans when i had a listen.
Lots of detail, great dynamics, excellent imaging, the usual metallic crisp of low bias mosfet output stages in the highs.
(cost of the duo was around $25K new overhere, at the current exchange rate)

Guys
An amazing amplifier that looks even better than the earlier Sony ES Series.
ACD - The link to the service manual was great - Do you also have a link for the service manual for the pre amp TA-E1 also?

Reads that none of you have heard or seen the full Class A NR10 either, twice the TA-NR1 or TA-N1.
Just of topic, but if some of you have a schematic or the service manual for a pre- or power amp (no matter brand) that may interest others, I would be happy to put in on my website 😉
A person who has heard TA-N1 and TA-NR1 said that TA-NR1 sounds better. TA-N1 sounds too clinical. Is this right?
Is this because TA-N1 uses current feedback (diamond buffer)?
