Hello everybody!!:)

I wanted to make the electra amator loudspeakers, by Sonus Faber..

Is anybody have the original designs for the wood enclosure & the crossover circuits?
I would like to build a clone from wood ;) !
I don't know if i can make it but i'll give it a try!!!:smash:

No designs, but wouldnt be too hard to make.
Scanspeak 8545? Seas 10mm tweeter?
Stereophile has review & measurements.

I found in the forum the crossover, i'll search Stereophile for the enclosure..

Any other sugestion for DIY project in this kind of speakers?
My uncle a lot of years ago had bult the BBC LS3/5A with KEF B110/T27!:)
They where preaty cool!!:eek:
I think that i want a little more responce down there...

Anybody have a better suggestion than the Electra Amator ??

I intend to build the Leach Amp, my Preamp is ready (with AN5534 - AN5532..)

I wanted for beginning that kind of speakers..(First time DIY :rolleyes: !!)

the woofer seems audio technology
Today similar to MW-180SF perhaps SK-170 (500 $)
Afternoon i'try to find for you the dimensions and any
information.
But please tell us the crosover values

Correct the original Electa Amator (Extrema?) used an Audio Technology Flex Unit woofer- most likely custom specs, he will make any drive to your spec. The second series used Scanspeak drivers. The original would be far more expensive to make, but the xover is probably going to be easier, whereas the series two would be cheaper although xover much harder - take your pick!

I agree
the electa amator crossover is very simple

1. wf --> one series inductor for woofer
2. Tw --> one cap in series with RC and R parallel to Tw
all in phase

bass reflex
Fb=40 Hz measured
and Fcross about 2,2 Khz

external dimensions H=370 W=220 Depth=350 mm
white afroacrylic 40 mm left,right and back

The x-over was epoxy-sealed, unfortunately.
Anyway a true clone I think it cost much more of a good pair SF used,
in this particular case!! :(
