Sonic T-Amp Modifications Help Req.

Hello, new user here. I've made some modifications to my T-Amp and "colored" the sound somewhat.

My PSU is a SNP-8080 which is perfect for the T-Amp. Through trial and error I discovered it doesn't need any PSU Capacitor. I had originally removed the T-amp onboard power capacitor but this was a big mistake; the T-AMP sounded worse and randomly switched into fault mode then back.

With the power supply sorted I've hit another problem. I've replaced the input capacitors with 2.2uF dubilee ones and originally I was using the type 2 mod which leaves the input filter and resistor onboard.

However later I managed to lift some of the pads and had to go to the type 1 mod which bypasses the input stage (noticably the filter).

My problem is this;

1. the sound is more coloured with higher mids but it doesn't sound as nice or controlled.

2. the bass has reduced.


How would the L1 effect the input and do I now have to raise the capacitors above 2.2uF to get the bass back?

Thankfully I managed to bypass some of the pads and solder onto other components to get the L1 & L2 filters back in. It's obviously these which give the Tripath its unique sound over the other Tripath amps.

The sound with these in is perhaps more colored, but I use B&O 3800's which are colored to start with.
