Hi all, I hope someone here can help me with my design problem, please...
It's a hard problem to describe but I'll try...I'm building a simple SMPS half-bridge topology with an isolation transformer on the output (see schematic...btw in the pspice simulation I use two pulse generators to simulate my bootstrapping half-bridge driver that's in the real circuit). My output should be a "double-hump" sinewave voltage waveform (see simulation pic) but instead I'm getting a weird output waveform that has "discontinuities" in it, (for lack of a better term!).
The last pic is the real waveform I am getting out of the secondary of the transformer (right now it is being tested at a very low load value to simulate a short-circuit condition). (Sorry about the long period setting on these scope traces I should have shortened them to get a better look at the waveform).
Can anyone please give me some starting points on troubleshooting this? I've tried tweaking the inductor and capacitor values to try to "tune" the circuit better, I've tried adjusting the driving frequency, etc., but I can't get the output to look right! Have any of you ever seen these sort of waveform "discontinuities"? Please help if you can. BTW I am running this at 800 Hz.
