i am building a synth out of four oscillator that i found on this page:

this is really a resistor-tester, i think, but through the use of potentiometers it is possible to play on it. so far i have tested 2 oscillators together, and each time i sit down with it i make new sounds by adding other components, like capacitators.
i am completly new at working with circuits, and there is one thing that bothers me, and i can't find a solution: first of all, i don't think it's a real oscillator... and that leads to the problem, because when i tested it with a oscilloscope-program, the curve never went down below the middle. the second problem is that it delivers a square-wave, and i would like it to be a sine-wave. i don't know how to change that.
i have found some info on how to smoothen a signal with a capasitator, but i don't know if that is adaptible to my project.
i have found some oscillators on the net, but they all include components that i don't have, like jfets etc.
so i guess my question is: what can i do (with the basic components i possess)?
(perhaps you think this is the easy way out, asking others for help... but you must know that i have worked alot on this... raiding the dumpsters of electronic stors for old radios and TV's, fighting with broken components... the list is long, and i am old and tired, and in a hurry)

It is easy to convert any waveform into a sinewave with a filter, but only at a single frequency ie the frequency that the filter is tuned to.
If you want a variable frequency sinewave oscillator, I suggest using a "wien bridge oscillator". Here's an example: http://sound.westhost.com/project22.htm
