the smaller enclosure will have a higer low frequency rolloff, however. that means: you need more watts to get to the same displacement.

I think by "volume" you mean "SPL", e.g. how loud it plays. You will need more power to get the same SPL at low frequency. A smaller box causes the response to roll off at a higher frequency and lows will be less loud. You can compensate by using EQ to boost power to get back the original response. You can easily model this effect using a box modeler to see how much the low frequency response changes with box volume.Hello,
