Hello !!!

I'm searching for building a small and great videoprojector LCD(do you know the Philips UGO ?) in order to watch movies and sometimes TV with my computer...

I saw this : http://ubbsmile.free.fr/forum/pict10z.jpg

great but I think it is too big and not very beautiful... :xeye:

Is someone here who have built a little pretty video projector ?

(and it must well run... !!!)

Has someone open a "real" videoprojector to see what it contains ?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Thank you

English is not my native language so I apologize for doing any grammatical mistake...

Well, small DIY projectors have one problem: resolution. The thing is that small LCD screens with a high resolution are hard to find--non that i have found are even at 640x480. I had a post http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8838 that talked about it. I was also wanting a small projector, but the resolution issue has made me rethink that idea in favor of a larger one that can do 640x480 or better.

I intendt to make a projector the size of a dleta IV lens. I have already projected a good image using only the backlight of the lcd. I am finding a superbright lightsource, and modifying the backlight with it. The total size will be around 5 by 8 inches. Find the thread verbose mustafa project update. Good luck.

Manufactured projectors are expensive yet small because they use high-res LCD screens that are very small. Those screens are hard to find and cost a lot of money. Larger LCDs with good resolution can be found for much cheaper. Manufactured projectors also use a method to recycle bad polarity, thus they don't need a light source as bright or hot as DIY projectors do.

Basically, if you want the same quality as a store bought projector for cheap, it's most likely going to have to be pretty big.

Inventory solutions is a store that sells used audio and video equipment. http://www.invsol-inc.com/

Artograph projector is an opaque projector in which you put something such as a photograph underneath the projector and it projects it onto a screen. Although I do not believe this will work as it is the same technology as a reflective overhead projector which do not work with overhead projection panels.
