Small remote controlled amp

Hi

I need a small and cheap remote controlled amp for a tv for my parents. I have found some small speakers from a mini pioneer sound system. they are small wooden boxes with a 5" and a tweeter. Thought they would be great for my parents LCD tv, so that they'll get some decent sound and alot better than the build in speaker system.
Would this be fine:

I have a 12V supply lying around - but amplifiers with build in 230V supply would also be nice. Max pricerange is thought to be around 100$.
Also a small form factor would be great.

Hi,

Simply add 3.5mm interruptable sockets in line to the TV speakers.
I've done this to many TV's and added basic external speakers.
It will work fine, you don't really need an external amplifier.

Thank you for the info. Did not think of that. So the build in amplifier should be enough? Simply take the case appart and add, som kind of extra connections - sounds lovely simple. Just thought that an external amp and logitech remote could make it simple and pleasurable for the old folks.
But hey... I do actually have the skills - so better get at it, before bying anything, and lazyness kicks in 😀
