sky box to projector?

Hi guys

Well i have a little problem. I have a sky box (standard one) and i cant afford a HD one with subscription at the mo.

I have a VP6325 projector which runs at XGA native res.

I wanted to connect to my sky box so i tried with a scart adaptor that allowed a composite cable to be attached to the projector.

As you would realise composite is total sh*t and looks pretty bad. The connections i have are VGA, DVI D, S Video.

Now my idea is to buy this adaptor from Maplins that converts scart to 3 component.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=47318&DOY=22m1&criteria=projectors

Then attach a component cable to that to the VGA connector on the back of the projector.

I did recently try a Scart to VGA lead but once connnected all i got was a grey screen with lines running across it which is odd because the vertical frequency is in range.

Anyway any ideas or if you think this might work please post here

thankyou

Type of connections

From my limited knowledge, Svhs would be the best route. What are the input connections on your projector? I have a standard sky box and use it to power an LCD projection panel. I take a scart to Svhs out and it's great. An alternative would be to buy a RGB converter. I've seen one for about £35 from here

Either the one called: REF:C-JOYMATE or this one REF: LEK-CRS-2000

thankyou for the information!

My projector has svid and composite, dvi and vga input. So svideo would be fine.

What kind of adaptor do you use? and do you think the thickness of the cable makes much of diffrence?

thankyou

Much appreciated Tom
