I just flew back from Singapore after spending 2 weeks there. I was fortunate enough to be given an inside tour of the Esplanade Concert Hall, the sound system in particular. I was told it was designed primarily for acoustic performances like orchestra. I believe, due to commercial reasons, a sound reinforcement system was added later for non-acoustic work. The system is entirely by d&b. There are actually 3 arrays, left, right and one hidden in the center of the doughnut. This array will be lowered through the hole as a fill for the audience in the middle. The entire contraption, the doughnut and the arrays, is adjustable upwards and downwards.
All power amps are stored in what is called an AMP ROOM. There are racks full of d&b d12 amps.
Regards
Mike
