A series XO variant... Nordmende used these on the isophon yweeters in there consoles so it has been around for at least 30 years and probably predates that.

An interesting variant. Not sure about that big 20R series, tho...
But it should give a smoother, better slope than a cap alone. If you use an L-Pad in front of the tweeter, it would be about the same (I think).

Looks like it. Seems to combine the effects of a classical single cap hi-pass + L-pad + series notch filter.If you use an L-Pad in front of the tweeter, it would be about the same (I think).

yeah - one thing you'll want to note in the link - DCR of the coil needs to be very low. That's a fact, or you'll be sending low end into the tweeter.
So none of those cute little 20 gauge inductors!

Interestingly enuff the choke on the Nordmende/Isophons was a little 24-28g powder core inductor.
