Hello!
The problem i have is distortion when the output is stereo. The build is simple, m-audio fast track pro and a Ma120 mkII.
I managed to get stereo output from rca-female jack->male jack-xlr f->male to male->ma120.
And from the headphones->6.25 jack 3.5->jack-xlr f->m-m->ma120.
I tried with 2 smartphones and again the same. Problem with the cable, or for some reason unknown to me the ma can't play stereo? With mono everything is fine on each channel, or when i unplug either of the rca the other output's fine.And from the headphones->6.25 jack 3.5->jack-xlr f->m-m->ma120.
Hello,
I have this card and it's nice.
I sometimes have problems with distortion but I just reset it from the back button.
Also what OS are you using? Did you upgrade the drivers/firmware for the board?
Do you see anything wrong in the control panel of the board?

All seems good, drivers up to date. Tried with the onboard card same problem, i think it's the cable or the speaker that causes the distortion but i don't know why!
I had a thought , i'm sending a stereo signal to one output, one speaker, so maybe the problem is the stereo? It can only play mono from one source?
When i connect the line in and mic in, and with two different cables connect them with the fast track it's ok, but at the mic i have to put the volume at extreme low level to output at the same level with the line-in.

Are you using mic-in to input music into the card? The levels might be too much for that. I only use it for music from my computer so I can't comment on other function. Plus, I'm using spdif output into my DAC, so basically it's just usb-spdif interface for me. Do read the manual! You can find it online, check the maximum input levels for the mic input. Also, what are you feeding the board from?
Also remember that the connection from the mic input is mono, one mic signal can go in. If you use a stereo jack, the inside connection might short one channel to ground on the jack.
Me too, i only use it for music from my computer, but the only way to play stereo sound is to connect rca(output 1-2 on the card board) to the ma120 at the line-in and i have distortion. The workaround i found is: TRS output 1-2(jack 6.25), one to the ma120 line-in and one to the ma120 mic-in, which then i have to put the mic vol at really low level and the line-in vol almost at max to balance the output(what i hear) at the same level.
Maybe a busted output on the card.
I managed to fry a resistor from the jack output on the front. I've replaced the smd part with a big-*** through hole resistor (didn't have any smd parts and needed both channels at the time). It was easy to spot as it was burnt black, and I was playing with a tube amp so I guess I messed up with high voltage 🙂 I should put a smd part there, good thing I've remembered!
So you might take out the case of the audio card, but look it online as there are some quirks on doing that if I remember correctly. Maybe you can spot something. If you're not the diy guy then just take it somewhere for a check/repair.
