Simple NE555 timer question

I found out that I bought a car that doesn't have catalytic converters, so I'm going to build this:

It calls for a NE555 timer. Can I buy a NE555DT. What does DT stand for, digital timer, maybe? Or will the NE555P work?

DT means a surface mount package. P means plastic through hole stand DIP.
