Simple compressor

Hi Guys, a long shot, but does anyone remember a simple 'passive' compressor from Elector, early 80s I think, which consisted of a FET, diode, cap and a couple of resistors? I remember it working well with guitar & want to build another, but of course I lost the schematic decades ago....

Hi Kay, I'm aware of Rod's circuit, which uses optical compression, but I want to use the FET circuit. Actually, I could nearly draw it out it was so simple... I'll give it a go later and see if anyone has suggestions for component values.
