I ordered a Siglent SDS1052Dl scope from Amazon for $347.00 CAD
The shipper(Greyssa Acosta Melendez of Orlando, Florida) shipped me a Rigol DS1052E!
I think I got the short end of the stick but I am not 100% certain. The display is a little smaller yet these two scopes virtually function the same for audio equipment usage. Any advice? I am beside myself that an Amazon Seller would pull this type of !@#$. I have a 30 day window to decide.

Send it back, Saelig sells that scope for $259.00. You could get the "Siglent SDS1202X-E 2-Ch 200MHz Super Phosphor Oscilloscope" for $356.21 with 6% discount when you sign up at EEVblog Electronics Community Forum.
Report this to Amazon. Then see what happens.
They gave up and ended the live chat on my third chat representative would not give me an inch. $5 was all they had to offer.
They emailed me a label to print and send the item back.
End of story...Amazon has washed their hands of me. What a joke?

Lesson learned.
Do NOT buy things from Amazon other than junk or items you are willing to take a gamble with. Amazon clearly is not a store to buy significant items from. This scope was the biggest item I have purchased from these idiots and they did not come through. I blame myself.

I am not a big lover of ebay but they do tend to look after buyers better. On ebay you would just do a SNAD claim (significantly not as described) and they would send out a returns label.
I have had one return with Amazon and it took 3 weeks for a refund. They tend to deal slowly with returns even after they get the item back. I guess its to put people off returning stuff.
I tried selling an item on Amazon and it didn't turn up in listings. So I now refuse to buy from them.

Thanks but I am using CAD funds...kinda like Monopoly money...

This is from amazon.com (USA) or amazon.ca (Canada)?
Doesn't the label have prepaid shipping?
From your chat it looks like you were asking for $50 for your inconvenience? Or was that because it would cost you $50 to return it?
Was this a 'Sold and shipped by Amazon' item, or something from an 'Associate Seller'?
A) .ca
B) the return label is prepaid
C) I was offered $5 coupon to offset price shopping differences to go and buy the unit again on my own and 'try' to get the original price with free shipping. I said no, $50 will cover it.
D) AMAZON.CA
E) The look on my nephews face when he saw I got him the wrong scope.
F) The tears in his eyes when I boxed it up 10 minutes ago to send it back

Funny good times sticker on the box I just noticed...

.
I have spent mega $$ on ebay. I have purchased enclosures that cost me over $1,000.00 each
I have been short changed hardware. I have been shipped goods with missing items. BUT I NEVER had an eBay seller NOT fix the problem ASAP. The big power sellers on eBay bank on customer service and their shipments contain notes that beg you to contact them first... before leaving bad marks. eBay protects its big sellers if you have not noticed...it is a firewall to get through sometimes when you have a problem BUT AMAZON holds their sellers behind a black wall.

That hints to me the seller has incompetent help not dishonest. You might want to see if they actually have the right one!
I have always had good returns *when I bought from Amazon itself*.
I recently had a funky return buying from "Amazon Seller - Dreams.Come.True". Item not as described, and also defective. It worked out, but clearly the seller was incompetent. (I shudda guessed: half the reviews for a can-opener said it was a pencil-sharpener--- they were recycling item numbers.)

I've had good experiences with Amazon and a few not-so-good experiences among many many eBay transactions.
It's just luck - once in a while I run across somebody incompetent. In thousands of online transactions I've only run across a couple of real crooks. So I'm doing OK...I've even bought a few things from Alibaba lately and they showed up as promised. 🙂
Asking for cash for inconvenience is always a stretch, in my experience.

I'm gonna call Siglent in BC and order the 1202. The USA office said they would take my order direct.

It seems you can send back the unit and get your money back. What's not to like?

I agree with Jan. The seller has accepted his error, will pay for return shipping, will return full money. IMO fair deal, everyone can make a mistake.
Yes. Why the Amazon bashing? Someone tried you rip you off, someone they (Amazon) have no control over, yet they (Amazon) are willing to absorb the exchange cost.
More than reasonable.
