ok, im trying to make a projector from a overhead projector and a LCD projection panel, im usin the sharp qa 1650 panel and have gotten it to work 3 or 4 times through the RCA input so i know it does work, but other then that all i get is either a colored static (looks like static on a tv but green red and blue) or just a completely blank black or white screen. if anyone has any idea of whats wrong with it or what needs to be done to it it would be greatly apreciated. thank you also, i got a copy of the manual for this panel but the one page i needed (how to properly adjust the screen) was the only page it DID NOT have. so if someone could post a copy of the FULL manual it would help alot.
I have some experince with sharps QA-1150 and 1800, but not the 1650. Could you post some pics of what is happening?
What input are you using on the projector panel when you get the static? S-video, Composite (RCA) or VGA?
What are you using to send the signal? DVD player, Computer?
Do you have the Sharp logo when you first turn it on and no inputs are connected to the panel?

Having only worked with the 1150 and 1800, I have not seen a Sharp startup logo. Should there be one? What does it look like?
Have you opened it to check the connections of the cables. Sometimes the connectors get tarnished, so unpluging them a few time might help.

zaner21,
In the time that I have worked the Sharp products (1150 and 1800) I have not seen that logo.
Hmmm, maybe my units (4-1150 and 1-1800) are not working properly either. Although they do show an image with VGA and RCA inputs (w/o static)
I don't have a copy of the 1150 manual and the copy that I have for the 1800 is in a pdf form but is too large to email(me thinks)(13-15mb). To get the copy I asked ppl that had resently bought one on ebay if they could scan their manual and send it for a fee. Say $5-$10.
jquizle,
Any luck with your 1650
cheers,
Charles

Charles,
Not to worry. I have owned both the 1650 and 1750 and seen the 1800 and the QA-1650 is the only one of the three that has the Sharp logo so yours are working properly. 🙂
