Hi,
Firstly, very sorry to clutter up the forum with this. No doubt I'll recieve hate mail and death threats for the rest of my life.
I'm looking to buy a panel. Having given up on ebay for many many reasons, is there anyone out there who would sell me one? I'll pay a good price (and I do mean good, at least what it wd fetch on ebay).
If you're in the US, don't bother if you want more than $40 for shipping.
I'm not too fussy about model, but basic spec I require is:
MUST WORK!!!
MUST have video and computer inputs
MUST have VGA lead if non standard type & same for power supply if non standard type
MUST have contrast ratio 100:1 or higher
Must have response of 50ms or faster
Prefrably 800*600 but this isn't a 'MUST', (hence the ommision of the word MUST!!!)
Anyway, if anyone wants to save themselves the hassle of ebay I'll be interested in hearing what u got - cash waiting, and I can pay any way for it.

mhelin said:How about the diylabs panels, www.diylabs.org? Are these too slow?
..........buying a panel from DIYLABS would be like giving away precous money.300$ for a PIECE OF SH[]T some one should slap that guy! lol, you could get a decent panel or monitor for that price. my 2 pesos
I may have a possibilty
I have one spare panel left -an Ovation 822c. It is 640 x 480 and 200:1 contrast ratio with s-video and RCA inputs. I need to throroughly test it first though as it came to me from the US incomplete.
I do not have the cables / PSU, but got a VGA cable from a guy called skywayflies in the USA. He made the cable for me, and mailed it to me for something like $15.00 (£9 GBP) or something like that. I can look up the details if you want
The PSU situation for Ovations are well documented on this forum and you can make one from an AT power supply reasonably easily. Someone on this forum may even offer to make you one for a reasonable cost.
Just a thought... feel free to disregard this or come back to me if you want - my email is
seshy@cox.net
(I'd be looking for about £30 - £40 GBP for the panel itself)

I'll see what I can do...
Perleman,
I'm happy to enter into email negotiations with you, but would mention:
I am moving house & job / from Wales to Yorkshire in the next month or so with a wife & kids, and don't really have a great deal of spare time - however I will attempt this weekend to test the panel with the accessories from another 822C that I just sold on ebay and is waiting for dispatch.
I'll try and give you a complete assessment of its condition / performance by end of Monday at the latest.
In the meantime feel free to continue investigating other sources of panels - I wouldn't want you to miss a bargain, and I have no idea how good / bad this panel is until I fire it up.

Haven't I seen you bidding & winning one or two panels recently on ebay - how have you fared with all that?
OK just had to post, many people in other countries Bitch when people say it will be 100.00 plus to ship anything, Well what do you expect its shipping it half way around the world, why should a seller go into debt so you can have a panel, I remember My brother selling a PS2 on ebay and it weighed about 13 lbs and it would have cost 175.00 to ship to the UK etc. It even costs 30 bucks to ship a 15 lb box from New your to california. So in short Shipping is expensive GET over it.
Heinrik
People kept out bidding me in the last 5 seconds - I was making good bids too - but am getting really sick of it!
BTW it costs 50 USD to ship a panel USA to UK. So my sister tells me, and she knows.

OK not to be a *** but according to UPS.com when my bother was selling his PS2 it would have been 120 ish to ship I mean think about it it costs 30 bucks to ship from on coast to the other in the USA( package being 20 lbs) so I just dont see how it would only be 50.00 to ship across a ocean, and about your being utbid at the last second, yes I agree that sucks, I dont bid on ebay anymore, I look locally at schools universities etc. Heck I dont even have a ebay account, I would just always use my brothers. L8er
Video Freak, I understand you might get a little frustrated over our whingeing about shipping costs from the US.
Believe us, it is nearly as frustrating living in the UK, where a pool of about 20 identical panels seem to be continuously doing the rounds on ebay. We're just jealous DIY'ers, that's all....
We'll try and keep a lid on it in the future!

Heinrik?
UPS is way way way more expensive than US parcel service. They are a business service - fast reliable & expensive.
Heinrik, can you contact me via email please? I'd rather do business privately! I understand your situation totally, good luck with the move - I just moved so I know how it is.
Anyway, as long as it works I'll have it! so let me know please mate.

The regular USPS that does all our regular mail ships internationally? I didnt know that, I assumed they did letters But never even thought of them doing packages. WOW I learned something today and feel somewhat retarded that someone from another country knew this before me. LOL yea I wasnt trying to be mean or anything with previous comments FYI, yea thankfully I live where there is a excess of panels etc so the prices are not extreamly high( compaired to what you all pay etc) Good luck
