I am going to build copy of the RCA rs-193 amp, but don´t understend their schematics. I don´t understend their loudness connection. There is 5 connections, but regular potenentiometers have just 3 connections. Can anyone solve the wiring mystery? I attached the schematic.
The loudness control pot is exactly as shown on the schematic. It cuts the middle and treble when then volume is turned down to give more bass. You can replace with a simple 500k dual log pot and not have the loudness control.
Yes, eliminate everything between the coupling capacitor and the balance control.
Then add a dual log 500k volume control just before the balance control.
A 250k control can work, if you can't find a 500k control.
If the balance control doesn't work well enough now, then at the expense of lower gain,
you can add a 220k resistor in series with the coupling capacitor.
Then add a dual log 500k volume control just before the balance control.

You did not attach the schematic but taps on the volume control for "loudness" are typical. Resistors and capacitors are hung off the taps to attenuate high frequencies. Something similar can be done with a standard pot but it is not the same.
Yes i understend, but i don´t know how to connect the pots. Pots have just 3 connections, but on the schema there is 5 connections.
Those are specialty pots with loudness taps.
Maybe you find them, but as said, slim chance.

I don´t have the pots, i will build the amp, so don´t know how to connect 3 pin dual pots. Schematics is not intelligible.
