Haven't tried the new one but, the old one was phenomenal!
I used them in a two way tuned to 32 hz with a 9300 Scan Speak tweeter crossed at 2KHz.
One of the best sounding speakers I have heard. It had decent output at 30 hz. For a 7" driver, it was impressive for the 1990's. Only needed a sub for HT. No problem with music and this system could play loud with low distortion with a good powerful amp.
I may build them again, now that they are available again. I would bi-amp them this time.
