I have four of these 10” drivers from a previous build that turned out to be one note wonders. I would like to reuse one or more of these to mate with my Northcreek Borealis ( 2 way with 6 1/2” scan speak bass driver). I will be using a mini dsp to do the crossing and have a Rekhorn a400 for Poweramp (opened it up and made sure caps are fine). I think with the mini dsp I should be able to compensate for any drivers narrow bandwith and proper cabinet design with eather ported or using a passive radiator would help as well. If someone has a good cabinet recommendation or point me to some good design software it would be much appreciated.

Looks to me like they want a big ported box, tuned low.
Alternatively, a small-ish sealed box with some EQ would work okay, if the drivers can move enough air for you.
WinISD is fine for designing simple cabinets, but I prefer the flexibility than Hornresp offers.

Chris,
I would prefer small and would be ok with useing a passive radiator . Trying to keep it wife friendly. I finally moved one of my my good system into the living room, they have all been living in the closet for seven years. Do either of those program incorporate passive radiators in their design sweet?
Thanks

Both do.
Ok since I have 4 of these speakers I have a lot of options. I guess I will start with a sealed box first, as that is hard to screw up. With the mini dsp and the ability measure my results this time will have a better chance than my last attempts. Off to the store tomorrow for some 12 ply Baltic birch.
Thanks
Thanks
Closed box
Hi
I would try with two parallel wired drivers mounted for force cancellation in a closed box with a helper capacitor in series.
The capacitor helps with raising the lower bas in a smaller enclosure.
best regards

Uwe,
That was the configuration in their last build, though I did not take any measurements they had narrow band width, one note wonders. I downloaded Hornresp, I am struggling with it, I get the T-S stuff ok but most of the other stuff I am clueless at this point but reading the sticky. I will all serve as a good learning experience. I will also need to learn how to use Mini DSP with the USB mic., and filter software.
Thanks

Hi Bill,
Use the Input Wizard to help you get started - it can be accessed from under the Help menu. Once you have generated a generic template for the system you want, change the given notional input parameter values as required. If you have any specific questions regarding the operation of Hornresp, post them to the Hornresp thread and I will try to answer them for you.
Kind regards,
David
