I've released the design of a custom enclosure for Salas' Ultra Folded Simplistic Phono so it can be ordered directly from Protocase. This should reduce shipping costs and allow others to get with a few friends and order together to also save cost. The cost is much better at 3~5 units verse a single. Turn around is very quick with Protocase, when I initially ordered the first 3 enclosures it was one week from design submission, manufacturing and shipping to my front door. They came packed extremely well and there were no issues with quality.

The first 3 enclosures I ordered came to $805.84, this included onetime setup and 2nd air shipping.

Specs on the enclosure:
65x340x175mm (Height Width Depth)
Top and base, 16 gauge (1.61mm) galvanized steel
White (gloss) polyester powder coat
Direct digital printing labeling
Metric PEM nuts (feet M4, PCB M3)

Hardware (available from Mouser):
Feet - Essentra SOF-15125
Ground terminal - Cinch 111-0104-001
Power jack - Neutrik NC4MD-LX
Power connector - Neutrik NC4FXX
Power cable - Belden 5341FE
RCA terminals - REAN NYS367-2 (red) NYS367-9 (white)

I will follow up this post with how to order from Protocase. Below are pictures of a completed unit using PCB/parts from Teabag.

I did use the request a quote to see how much it would be inclding shiping to Sweden. But I got an email from Protocase saying need creators authorization to proceed with creating another of these cases and selling it and they needs to contact him. So it seems that the design is not released at this moment.

I checked with Protocase about an order being shipped to multiple locations and they said yes they can do that. It would drive the unit cost down, I've not done a GB before and I'm probably not the right person to organize one but I'd fully support it if there is interest and someone wants to tackle it.

The advantage of the steel case to an aluminum one is magnetic shielding, especially helpful if you are using a LO-MC cartridge.

I have received a quote from Protocase with prices depending on how many enclosures that is ordered. Included is shiping to Sweden. Price/unit:

1. $324.21

2. $256.06
3. $235.61
5. $211.92

And as longspeak said it would also be possible to have the enclosure shipped to multiple location. Are there any one else interested?

I'm interested. I had contacted Protocase last week as well. The group buy makes this quite feasible monetarily. Would protocase ship to multiple locations under one order?
