I have a stereo class D amp with modules that I m running 2 bass speakers in stereo.
But now I am going to use 1 single bass speaker, can I run the other channel without a load or should I disonnect the the power to the module?

Yes, that way the unused amplifier can't fail and damage the power supply.
And you'll have a spare amp.

"maybe", "if" 🙂 Maybe the OP can clarify what the reason is for depreciation of the standard?!
Many Class D devices severely dislike to be run with input signal and no load. Some even let the output filter caps pulverize. One quickly learns the habit to connect simple 8.2 Ohm resistors to outputs when no speakers are connected.

Just a general thought: I long thought that people do things for/with a reason. Today I know some do the strangest things without any reason 🙂
To my surprise I saw new devices today that remove tattoos leaving the tattoos "without ink" but now solely as scar tissue so a "flesh tattoo" as I call it. They are operated by the same people that put the tattoos on peoples bodies. Couldn't figure out the thought process at both sides.

Also no balance 🙂 Well sometimes it goes like that. You need a 2.1 setup of sorts, some class D devices can be set up like that.
Lots of people have only one woofer, not at all unusual for many years.I am moving to a smaller room that my 2 15 inch dont fit in.
