Hello. I have a ROTEL RA-913 Amplifier working on 230V Mains with two wires line, neutral. Should i change the cable to one including the green ground wire and where should i connect it on the rotel ra -913? should i tie it to a point on the chassis or to the star ground where the capacitors are connected?
While not at first safety logical I would agree as long as no leakage is registered .
While in the past an earth was Legally required if an audio system can work without one then you have removed one route of noise & distortion from entry to your audio system.
Having said that and been involved in electrical safety on a UK public website I have to say ---DON'T buy cheap power supplies as the internal components in them have proved to be low quality and shocks have occurred.
Think twice when you see on eBay/Amazon etc a power supply providing excellent (advertised ) specifications at a very cheap price .
How much is your life worth ?
Electric goods now are "built to a price " -IE what an importer wants to pay and in many cases that equals how much profit they want to make .
Buy quality .
