Hey guys I have a RF Punch 700s amp. I don't know the history of it but I got on ebay. This amp had wrong parts in it in the power supply. I fixed most of the mistakes on that. So my question is can I use IRF3205s on one bank of fets while the other bank are MTP75N05HD's. Or it won't work?
It may work with mixed FETs (all matching in each bank). Why not replace all of them? They're dirt-cheap.
The 68 ohm gate resistors are a bit high. I'd recommend using 47 ohm.

I guess you're right. Hey with IRF3205's in it will it be a little more 'reliable'? Not that I like to abuse my equipment I like to know that I have made it to last the next 13 years or so...
It won't make the output stage any more reliable. The 3205s may be a bit more rugged but I don't know that they will make much of a difference in reliability. Confirming that the protection circuit is intact and using the right fuse will increase reliability.
What's the size of the gate resistors? I'm going to replace all 8 power supply fets with IRF3205. Also where can I find those 2200 16v filter caps? Two are missing.
Most are 0805 in Rockford amps.
Are they missing or were they simply not installed? Sometimes boards are used for multiple amp models and not all locations have parts installed for the lower power models.
