Hello,
I am seeking assistance with the following product: Rockford Fosgate P300-12 Powered Subwoofer
This subwoofer has performed flawlessly for 4 years. Here is what happened:
With the vehicle off and no power applied to the subwoofer, it was disconnected, removed from the trunk, and placed in the back seat. It did not fall, was not bumped or anything of that nature. Later and under the same conditions, the subwoofer was returned to the trunk and re-connected. It no longer played music.
Here are my troubleshooting steps:
My power setup is as follows:
12v car battery > 4ga fused kit > 4ga fused d-block > subwoofer (the sub is not blowing its fuses as they both tested fine)
I pulled the amplifier out and observer the two boards. There are no indications of a problem. No smell of anything being burnt or the smoke having been let out.
All connections are solid/tight. Using my Fluke DMM I tested power coming into the subwoofer at 12.20v and holding without fluctuation at all. Based on my very limited knowledge the sub appears to be going into protection mode. I am looking for feedback and or a most likely cause.
NOTE: Settings on the sub are all at their lowest as I've never needed more than that.
NOTE: In this setup, a remote turn on wire has never been used as it is not possible with the factory head unit. The subs audio sense circuit is what has been used with no faults.
P.S. I have made repairs to two boards in my life. One is a computer monitor, and another a portable radio. Both successfully. I have no scopes or other equipment only soldering tools and my Fluke DMM.
Many thanks for your assistance.

Here are my troubleshooting steps:
1. Turn vehicle off and wait a few minutes. Start vehicle and observe the subwoofers LED indicator. The LED would light up blue for anywhere from 5-10 seconds, play music and sound as it should. At which point the LED would (for a microsecond) turn red and extinguish altogether.
2. I removed the 12v power cable, the audio (RCA) cables and the remote bass cable. I waited a few minutes and reconnected the cables and performed the same test as in number 1 above leading to the same result.
3. My third test was to remove all cables, wait a few minutes and "ONLY" connect the power cable at which point the LED would light up blue for anywhere from 5-10 seconds and (for a microsecond) turn red and extinguish altogether.
