i've searched the forums for about a week and still am unable to find a concise solution for retrofitting the dukane 4003 with a mh bulb and ballast. the ohp has a triplet, but i'd also like to find out how to install a reflector and condenser. i know that normally people get mad when people re-post the same questions, but i haven't found any solutions... help!
The price of lamp is $40 each. I can sell ballasts, but it is too heavy, the shipping is

I don't know how big a Dukane 4003 is or how extensive a set of instructions you are looking for but once you have all of the parts ( bulb, ballast, reflector, mounting brackets ) "retrofitting" them is pretty self explanatory. The reflector goes behind the bulb. The mounting brackets hold the bulb and reflector to the Dukane chassis. Most people hook the ballast to the outside of the ohp, where there is less heat but it can go instead if there is enough cooling. The only critical thing is to get the arc of the metal halide bulb in the same place as the filament of the existing bulb. All the rest of the parts go wherever they can fit. There are no “secrets” to retrofitting. Just common sense, time and $$$.
