HI guys and gals!I've finally done it it's been a little while coming but i've finaly got a solution to retrofitting the ezpro 680 it's very simple. The first step is to take out old bulb reflector and all, then remove the bulb from the reflector being careful not to damage the reflector.Replace the bulb only with DYS 120v 600watt wire up a wall dimmer to the bulb install bulb back into the projector plug the cord into the wall socket bingo adjust the power using the dimmer and away you go.Excellent results. With one downfall these bulbs only last 75hrs.This way you can also adjust the brightness to your lumens.

This should be self expainitory the bulb pictured above is inserted into the old reflector of the ctx two wires are conected to a GY 9 plug found at many stores online then ran into a normal 120Volt dimmer switch 2 wires with a standard wall plug on the end of it .Plug into a normall wall plug and bingo. You can adjust the brightness by using the dimmer switch, also the bulbs don't blow when you turn on the power because the power is slowly turnt on so that instant power does not blow out the bulb.

retro fitting ezpro680 !

Quick update!I will post some pic's this week of the entire setup how this was all put together and how well it work's as my camera is dead at the present. The entire setup is very simple and most of all the bulbs are inexpensive Ebay 5$.I've since the last post updated a few things as the bulb was producing alot of heat so i added a few cooling touches.I will post some pic's the beginning of the week.

Here is a picture of the projector notice the dimmer on the left under the 680 you will also see that it is on as my wife and i use this every day as a normal T.V.So far the bulb has about 1 week on it approximate hours 100HRS and no problems yet in color dissapearing etc.Next step DIY screen as right now were using a window shade colors are not quite bright enough for us could turn colors up but.......would rather have a nice size awsome screen.More pics to follow soon. I've tried to atach the pic and it just will not so i'll keep trying.

Most projectors will not work if it does not sence the bulb in place, i take it this projector is not like this, because you are not using any ballast from the projector at all, just straight to the wall plug with the bulb and dimmer switch and bulb placed in old reflector and placed back in projector bulb bay. Just asking for clearification.
