Replacement woofer recommendation

Hello,
One of my woofer drivers broke in my 2-way system and I am looking for replacement. I will replace both woofers and I`m looking at a price range of 150EUR / piece.

Woofers must be 15" 8ohm, with high sensitivity

Horns are:
GMI sound D-59
60oz
1KHz to 18KHz
115dB 2.83V/1m
1000W
8ohm

Boxes are ported, I will add measurements later, I don`t have them at home right now.

I will have to order the woofers from some other country in Europe (I think that Germany would be the best bet), because I live in Slovenia and well... you can`t get nothing here :cuss:

What would be your recommendation... I know that 300EUR for 2 woofers is a bit cheap, but this is what I can spend... But still it will be an improvement over what it is right now (FDC audio, hi-fi, 90dB )

Thank you for help 😀

Post of the internal dimensions of the box and ports including the number of ports, then drivers can be simulated with one of several free software programs to find suitable candidates.

Do the speakers have a passive crossover or are they actively powered and processed with external amplifiers and crossovers?

Replacement PA drivers will have a very different response than those you currently have, those were likely derived from the car audio market and would have relatively good bass and sub bass response but produce no mids at all and are very inefficient, pro audio drivers will have the opposite response with relatively poor low bass response but great bass-mids and high efficiency. This reminds me some "white van" speakers a friend brought to me one time, they too combined car audio subs with high frequency compression drivers which produced a horribly unbalanced sound, we replaced the car subs with pro audio mid/bass drivers, reworked the passive crossovers and ended up with some decent sounding speakers so I know it can be done but for the money we spent he could have bought some real PA speakers.

P.S. After a quick web search it seems this GMI brand is this exact same cheap chinese junk as those white van speakers, if that is the case you might consider junking these and buying some used brand name speakers.. unless there is literally nothing else available where you live.

Hello,

I will post measurements later today... I don`t have them at home.

It has passive crossover, 2-way 8Ohm -12dB 2kHz 400W

I have those woofers.

I have seen Eminence woofers going cheap on ebay (new), any toughts about this brand?

About the GMI... yes, I thought that this is also just, I will replace them later if necessary, but highs don`t sound bad, boxes are homemade and very well build, I had bought them half a year ago, so I would like to keep them.

Thank you 🙂

Nothing at all wrong with Eminence. They are the go-to brand when looking for a low frequency driver under about $150. Don't know if they have fakes on E-bay, I always buy from PE.

Use Kappa15LF if low end extension is more important, or Delta Pro 15 if efficiency and smoothness thru the mids trumps bass. They require different tuning. That Delta is used in 2nd or 3rd tier up from the bottom brands, crossed over at 1.7 kHz to a 1 Inch. Not really supposed to do that, but that driver does it about the best that you can.

The Eminence Kappa 15LF is suitable for this enclosure but the Delta is not. Eminence is a quality manufacturer that does OEM for some major brands, I own multiple eminence drivers and components and have used them numerous times with good results and with no failures.
