Hi
I would like to give some life back to my dad's old Realistic SA-1000 reciever from the 70's. I am replacing the large electrolytic caps, the source selector switch, and the potentiometers. I am having trouble finding a rotary switch and pots that are the same as what is in this amp. The parts have a long threaded area so that it can reach past the thick metal front panel. See attached pic. Would anyone know where I could find a pot and/or rotary switch with long threads like this?
The volume pot is 200k, I didn't look at the others as they are not as important.
Thanks.

I have several dual pots laying around. The problem is the threads are too short on a standard pot so I cannot screw the nut onto the end of it. I think when I measured the length of the threaded area they were 3/8" long and that's "just" long enough.
I just got a sa1000 myself. I have a unrelated peoblem wiht it though.
Its got a 1/2 inch gap in the front of that wood panel on both sides. What was there and is there some way of putting somthign in there to cover that gap. Thanks.
Cool.

There are plastic endcaps on the front panel which sounds like yours are missing. I had one brought to me a few years ago for repairs that was also missing just the one side. I ended up fabbing 2 matching pieces out of aluminum. I'll post pics of the end result when I find them.

Yes cool, Thanks. Please put pics ... making stuff out of aluminum is my middle name.
Why not plastic though, Aluminum could conduct ... of course face plate is aluminum.
There seems to be a aluminum foil type thing on that part just seems to run top to bottom. What is that ? Shorting to that is not a problem ?
Thanks in advance.

Its not rocket science, use whatever you want.... plastic, wood, metal etc. Its simply cosmetic. I chose aluminum that I gave a brushed look to 😎
