I need a replacement woofer for my JBL MP-215
Trying to determine if I should go with the OEM speaker(M115-8A) for $170 which seems rather high. Or if I should get something else.

What say all of you?

The original 15" is rated by JBL at 225 Watts RMS / 450 Watts Continuous / 900 Watts Peak. It is 8 ohms.

You can see the moving mass and the suspension as a spring/mass system with resonance frequency Fs. The air in a sealed enclosure that pushes/pulls at the cone surface Sd can also be seen as a spring and the equivalence volume Vas is the enclosed volume that gives the same spring strenght as the mechanical suspension. The result of the low moving mass is that Vas is very high compared to Fs and it fill be hard to find something that fits well.
