Device needs to be TO-92 as it fits in a very confined space. Pin config ideally needs to be the same too. Here is the datasheet for it. They are part of the aux input on a McIntosh MX406. Here is where they are in the circuit diagram. (Q300/302)
Can anyone tell me if 2SK170 is suitable to use? (I know its also obsolete but mouser have quite a few of both the GRF and BLF versions)
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Hadn't found that. Presumably they are a reputable seller like mouser/RS/Farnell etc?
I would prefer to find an alternative as they are obsolete and are only going to get harder to find.

I've had no problems with them, they are a bit pricey though, I suppose that comes with obtaining the unobtainable.
Does anyone know if 2SK170 is suitable to use? (i can get more of them for a lot less than littlediodes 372 price)
I thought that it was £4 each and you have to buy in batches of 5 which is why I was still looking at the alternatives.
I've attached some additional circuit diagrams to help show where these components go and what they are supposed to do.
