Evening all,
My trusty 30-year-old Yamaha YST-SW60 has developed a death rattle.
It's the driver; It gets slowly worse as the minutes tick by; I briefly swapped out a smaller 6 inch driver from a pair of speakers to test if it was the driver or amp. Defo the driver.
For sentimental reasons I'd like to keep the old boy going if at all possible.
Info I can find:
Nominal size 180mm (approx. 7 inch)
140W (I think)
Freq 25-250Hz
And the unit is 50W@6ohms
I've attached a pic
Could a kind soul point me in the direction of where I may find a similar driver, or suggest a replacement?
Happy to increase the cut-out if needed to accommodate an 8" unit, since my Google-Fu hasn't turned up much in the 7" dept., but obviously if there is a 7" out there that would be easier.
Many thanks for your time.

Actaully, looking at the enclosure; an 8" will be too big; so it would need to be a 6.5". I'd need to fashion an adaptor.
This may work: Dayton 7" woofer
The alternative to rebuild or repair the original driver. Is the surround falling apart?

Many thanks @johnmath;
The foam/rubber around the driver is in surprisingly good condition. Visually there seems to be little wrong with it. Certainly not torn or detached.
I will data a look at the Dayon woofer.
This unit has survived being moved house to house so as a student in the 90’s, and the introduction of chewy Labrador pups 12 years ago!
