Hello does anybody know a good replacement for the Sanyo DS13 diode. I have found it is 350v 1.5a and nothing else apart from it is no longer made. I have a Luxman Sq1220 and their are two diodes coming off the tranny to the smoothing caps, I think the tranny is centre tapped because their is only two diodes. Would a MUR240g be a good replacement which is 400v 2a, I have upped the value of the smoothing caps to 1500uf from 470uf (three in parallel). So I was wondering if the diodes should be increased. Thanks
I would think they would be OK. The 1N5408 is a common device to consider and is 3 amp rated.
1500uf (4500uf total) shouldn't cause any problems with surge ratings.

Thanks you have put my mind at rest, these older amps are a new thing for me much harder to get parts for. I have just found a cross reference for the DS-13 and that was a BY 255 which is 3A 400v, so I think I will look into the 3A one you suggested Than you very much I have spent 3 days looking for this answer.

The 1N5404 is a 400V version at 3A. Increasing the tank capacitor value; check the transformer temperature due to excess charge current.
