I like to improve the sound of my amp. I saw there are 2 Philips NE5532N OP amp.
Do you think the sound will improve if I replace with the Burr Brown's OPA2604?
Thanks
Rocky

Agreed.
Some people do the converse, replace with older NE for improvement.
I'll guess you won't get an exact answer here. My contribution is OPA2134, AD8620 (max +- 13 Volts!) and an adapter SMD-> DIL
Hi,
check the supply voltage to the 5532 pins. They can tolerate up to about +-21Vdc or +-22Vdc, that many of the newer opamps cannot.

I think, It depends on your taste. The various OP-AMPs from a few OP-AMP makers, have the distinctive sound. So I think those OP-AMP of Burr-Brown, Analog Device, JRC and etc.

I am going to try another brand named Fairchild this weekend. May be sound better or worse.
Thanks

My experience with fairchild has not been too good, I get the impression they make low cost copies....
A common replacement for the NE chip is AD825 or even LT1469CN8.
