Welcome. Relays are still around! I'm scoping out a relay project to select and sequence custom stops (sounds) on my hammond organ for long pieces. With all the progress on analog switch IC's, they just can't handle 0.5 ohm source resistance. Hope you find a supplier in the UK that has as much fun stuff as electronicsurplus.com and apexelectronic.com in the USA. I hear on BBCnews.co.uk they are re-creating a relay-tube computer, one of the first, in Blechley Park. Would be as much fun to be an amateur on that project as it is for restorers of historic WWII airplanes in the Confederate Air Force and your UK museum analogs.
