It was a great show, but they always manage that. They only play together twice a year, once in MA, once in WI. The rest of the time, each of them has their own touring bands (Cold Satellite, Crumbling Beauties, Kris Delmhorst Band) and schedules.
We were fortunate to have one of them come over yesterday for a recording session. This, my friends, is what one uses as a reference for sound quality.

My son is a part time musician as well - just got over his infatuation with electric bass in a small band who broke up when the singer/lyricist moved away, and has taken up playing acoustic 6 string and bass guitar again. Yup, it's always to good reset your reference with an acoustic instrument played in the same room as your audio system - and it doesn't need to be a Bosendorfer concert grand piano - a nice Martin or Guild will suffice quite nicely
That particular one was a vintage Martin, so had a particularly sweet and forward tone. At least when Peter plays it- it would sound like doo-doo in my hands.
