I am looking for a "compatible" preamp to go with a X250.5 and X5.
I thought the X1 was outstanding, but alas with only the choice of up down left right in the commands, one could NOT directly instruct the preamp to go to number 1 channel from number 2. So you could not command the preamp to directly go to the bypass channel for home cinema use. Only a series of 7 commands which was unreliable could get you to change between 2 channels
So although outstanding, not even a possibility to include in a macro chain of commands when switching between Home theater and Pure Stereo.
Anyone have any recommendations for something that sounds good with Pass Labs and B&W speakers ?? Or a solution for an X1 which would please me greatly.
Nelson if you are there...... Can you "please" make a direct push of the button to change between inputs please ?

Yeah then what's the X5 ? and the X3
Kinda left me hangin there Pass Labs 🙂
misterdoggy, seeing as how this forum is titled "diyAudio", are you proposing something of a DIY nature?
If you want a diy solution, Mikkel's kits can provide you with 0 attenuated passthrough with remote control capability - you just need to graft it onto your X1 yourself.
If you're asking Mr Pass to add this to his product line, then it's more appropriate to email passlabs.
Here's a link to Mikkel's VB thread:

I hope you can find what you're looking for
