Recommend a replacement mid for Leak Sandwich 600

My father's Leak Sandwich 600 has a non-working mid range.

Crossover etc is fine (i.e. tested with another speaker), and can't see any obvious breaks etc, but I am not that knowledgeable re voice coils etc etc

The mid range is a sandwich construction 3" which sits in a 3L (12x26cm) tube.

So looking for a replacement - I have HiVi B3N (low sensitivity?) and B4N (earmarked for OS build) sitting on shelf but am also considering quasi HiVi Jaycar B4N(ish) paper cone speaker (http://www.jaycar.com.au/Sight-%26-Sound---Home/Hi-Fi-Speakers-%26-Accessories/Component-Speakers/4-Paper-Cone-Woofer-Midrange/p/CW2190). I would obviously prefer to use existing mid tube, although front mid baffle is separate to main baffle, so can change that as needed.

I've had a look at Bon's 600 project (http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/212632-leak-sandwich-600-project.html). Its a bit more than I wanted to do atm, but I might also replace the caps while I sort them out....maybe tame the tweeters a bit also??

Would prefer to be able to source in Australia as $Au has taken a dive of late and o/s shipping tends to cost more than the drivers....

Hi microdub,
unless the cone assemblies are seriously damaged, your best procedure is to have the original drivers repaired so that everything confirms to the Leak specification.Changing to another make of speaker involves crossover and possibly cabinet alterations without a guarantee that it will end up to be be satisfactory.
