Ive recently aquired a fresnel lense. for next to nothing, and was planning to use it on a spare TV
I know that the picture will be worse then on the standard smaller screen because all im doing is enlarging, the original image
but seen as im only aiming for a gain of 2times the original picture, i though it might be a worthy experiment.
My question how ever is, what material do they used on the screens or rear projection TV's as rather then using it as a projector, I would like to make it all into a single cabinat and use it as a rear projection....

Rear projection TV's project the image from a small CRT(5" usually). The image is projected through the lens, mirrored, and then hits a giant fresnel lens, wich is where you see the image. I don't know if it's possible to make a DIY one, but If you succeeed I'd definetly like to hear about it.
