Hi,
I have an old 3 way old loudspeaker with missed bass driver. I cannot get same driver because in no longer available. Can I install a new bass driver and try to adjust the bass reflex port? Is that possible?.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

No impossible, but much easier to find a replacement woofer that closely matches the old one. What are the speakers? Can I install a new bass driver and try to adjust the bass reflex port? Is that possible?

Hi Jeff,
It is an old Talmus box I think with stock drivers because there is only a number and impedance. Tryed to get informtion in internet but without success.
In guitars cabs we just replace the drivers without trying to match with the box. But I know this is totally different.
Even increasing or reducing the lenght of the port will not help?
Thanks!!

It is possible. You need to find a woofer that suits your cabinet volume and be sensitive enuff to meet the mid/top.
You will likely have to tweak the XO as well.

If you can find someone to test your woofer for TS values, that will make your search much easier. Then you think to get one that match as close as I can tell?

- Home
- Loudspeakers
- Full Range
- Re-use an old box
