Hello,

I am in a position to possibly purchase a pair of RCA LC-1C MI-11411-C vintage 15" dual cone loudspeakers. They seem to be in good condition.

Does anybody know what year /era ? they would have been made in, and are they any good ? Having been used as broadcast monitors I guess they must be pretty reasonable but I'm interested in any opinions ?

Any idea what you would pay for them ?

Thank you.

- only know they're legendary - assuming nothing, including the tweeter, is damaged then should be "desirable"
RCA LC-1C speakers and amps - cdietze - Speaker Asylum

do the ones you're looking at have the "domes" on its woofer cone? I've heard they load well in the Karlson enclosure. some info from a Japanese blog:

The RCA LC-1 series can be divided into four generations. The first generation is the RCA LC-1 of the Yuanzu, the second generation of the RCA LC-1A (MI-11411A), and the third generation of the RCA LC-1B (MI-11411B). And the fourth generation of RCA LC-1C (MI-11411C).

Basically, the first generation of RCA LC-1 is a coaxial two-way design. The speaker tray has a prototype design. The second generation of the earlier version of the RCA LC-1A is similar to the first generation design, while the back magnet cover is the same. Colored. The second generation of the later version of the RCA LC-1A was introduced in the early 1950s.

The biggest difference was the addition of seven Conical Domes to the speaker tray. The tweeter tray was fitted with a butterfly-shaped Deflector, Conical Dome and butterfly-shaped Deflector also helped the treble to get a better angle spread and interfere with the bass, while the magnet cover behind the later version changed from brown to blue. Later, RCA's RCA LC-1B and RCA LC-1C, which were introduced in the late 1960s and 1970s, also used the basic design of Harry F Olson and were designed and improved by Hans Dietze, while the volume of the Conical Dome was slightly smaller than the earlier version. Increased.
