Sorry for my ignorance, but I just had a quick question. Say one were to just write the first 8-bits to the PGA chip, then have CS go high, would this only set the volume for the right channel? The next time CS goes low and 8-bits are inputed ot the PGA, again this will write only the right channel, instead of writing the left channel, right?
Or would it just not work with 8-bits inputed? Or would it set both channels instead of leaving one alone.
Thanks again for taking to time to answer my silly questions...

as i understood the datasheet you always need to write 16 bits into the pga.
but in case its important for you i will test when i have a little more time.

Thanks for the offer, but it's not important, I was just wondering after I read through the datasheet.
Computer Control of PGA2310
Hi guys,
I was just looking for resources how to program PGA2310.
I saw ur thread and thought you guys could help.
I saw the protocols and timming diagram required for the serial control and it can be controlled from a parrell port of a computer.
What i was looking for was a serial port controlled interface.
One problem is that serial port has only 8 bits data and plus it has start bit and stop bit and so many things which are not applicable in this case.
Have any of you guys ever used the serial port to interface with this volume control preamp(pga 2310)
thanks in advance...
regards
