One of my friends has a home theatre setup and wants to add a subwoofer that will give a lot of punch to his system. I am not entirely sure what he is using, but I think they are Pioneer mains with a 12" woofer, though I am not sure what he is using for surrounds.
His idea for the sub is this: make an enclosure of about 16x16x32 inside diameter, put in two Eminence DELTA-12LFA drivers, on adjacent sides, sort of transmission line the box with two pieces of wood cutting across roughly half way, and one 5" port at the top. Would this work? How would it sound? Would it be punchy at all, or sloppy and messy with odd bass response? Please help me so I can help my friend. 🙂 Thanks
