The subwoofer I am wanting to buy says it is a 4 Ohm subwoofer with duel voice coils. Does the number of voice coils effect the wiring set-up?
Each coil will be marked with a +ve and -ve.
If you want 2 Ohms connect them in parallel (+ to + and - to -)
If you want 8 Ohms connect them in series (- of coil 1 to + of coil 2)
If you want 4 Ohms just use one of the coils.
If you want 2 Ohms connect them in parallel (+ to + and - to -)
