Right I want to put an LED on an FX pedal using the Muzique method using DPDT, do I have to use an LED rated minimum for the supply voltage used? There's quite a big choice and I don't want to buy a pretty cool one then blow it... This is link (I just posted the .gif and it's too small to read):

The resistor (10k in your attachment) limits the current through the LED to a safe value.
Depending on the supply voltage, you might want to change the resistor value to adjust the brightness.
btw: Normal LEDs are rated for max current, not voltage.
Some have built-in resistors, flasher circuits etc but I doubt you can hurt any of them with that circuit.
