Hello,
I have Alto TS115a Speakers. A few of them. I was wondering if I could replace the high 1'' driver with a better sounding driver. Is this something I can do or would it not be possible due to the fact that the cabinet is self powered. Also if this is posted in the wrong place let me know. Sorry I am new here.

The problem with modifying powered speakers is you don't know what non adjustable processing(EQ) the manufacturer has included to counteract response anomalies of the factory drivers, and it's pretty much a guarantee a different driver won't have the same response anomalies so you could end up with a speaker that sounds even worse. Further complicating matters the horn the driver is mounted on has an impact on it's sound and it could be you're hearing something directly related to the horn and therefore changing the driver won't make a lot of difference.
What is it about the sound of these speakers that you don't like? Are you able to get acceptable sound using the available EQ adjustments? This box doesn't have a particularly powerful high frequency amplifier so I could understand it getting harsh when pushed but I don't know if that is the problem you're having.
