Hello,
Just found this schematic:

Does anybody know what are the benefits of using an EZ80 tube rectifier just after the silicone bridge?

Reaction,
The IDH rectifier as is EZ 80/81 will provide slow start for the B+ which could not be provided with SS diodes. In other words, without that rctf. the signal tubes will suffer from cathode stripping, because B+ will be applied before they get warmed!

Of course, cathode stripping is that fairy tale they tell tube-geek kids at night to scare them...
Tube or SS. Make up your mind. Use a timer relay if you have to (e.g. transmitter tubes specified for a heatup period).
Also no need for *******' 1mF on a preamp
