My roommate brought home a projector from work. It's a Proxima 9260. MSRP when new was $11k!!! Supposedly it blows bulbs REALLY fast, like every couple of weeks. It has a (blown) 150W UHP bulb in it. I looked up the manual and it says 200W bulbs. Could it be blowing bulbs because they aren't rated high enough? Anyone know of any common reason for these thigns to blow bulbs?
Anyone ever converted a real projector to use the Ushio bulb? Should it theoretically work, if I could get the source in the right spot?
