There's nothing missing as far as I can tell. Do you see the plastic part on the right hand side? The metal pin is supposed to slot in there.
Yes, there is something missing. To the right of the balance control, over the spring, you have a yellow thing sticking up. There should be two of them. They form a fork which engages with the pin on the lever attached to the balance pot shaft.
You can get a 3D printed replacement for the whole slider thing from my Dada Electronics shop at Shapeways.

The slider is half-visible as the brown piece on the right, and the rest of it must be there to support the half of the fork that is still present. What he is missing is the other half. You are missing g the piece that is the slider.

I'm looking for a replacement to my broken balance slider for years...

No. That branch has closed down, and never had these 3D prints. See www.shapeways.com amd search for Dada Electronics.
Just a quick question before I order: is there a difference in quality between the "versatile plastic", the "multijet fusion plastic" and the "fine grain plastic"?
I don't mind the colours, but I'd prefer to order the one that holds best, as the balance pot isn't very easy to turn. (That was probably the reason why the original slider broke.)

i got white i didnt know there were colours - ps sounds like solidified grease in pot - that will need attention
This may sound odd but I don't actually know. They don't provide a prototyping service, and with all those dozens of models I have there, paying full price for samples of my own products is just impractical. So we all just have to rely on the descriptions of the materials provided by Shapeways.is there a difference in quality between the "versatile plastic", the "multijet fusion plastic" and the "fine grain plastic"

It is indeed the grease in the rail where the slider goes. Disassemble, clean and re-lube.i got white i didnt know there were colours - ps sounds like solidified grease in pot - that will need attention
Thanks for the hint: I will unmount the pot and clean it before mounting the new slider (just ordered).
He means to clean the slider mechanism, the slot where the new part goes. Do so with IPA, and then put on some silicon grease.
