I have purchased a QA 1650 from ebay. It did not come with any cables. I have a working power supply for it. The screen does not display anything other than the loading screen. At first it didn't display anything. After a few power on/offs the screen slowly came into view. Previous views were scrambled images of the loading screen. After the screen became clear, it displays the loading screen. It does not get past this screen. The loading screen has dots in lines which scroll different colors. None of the connections work or change the image. Is there a special cable to put my computer on this panel? Is something wrong with the panel that causes it to only display this screen? Any help would be appreciated.
When you say “loading screen” are you referring to the screen with the Sharp logo? See attached picture...taken from http://www.hommie.net/construction.htm
Yes, Sharp has a priporetory cable. I believe it is 2 rows with 25 pins total. It is not a stardard VGA plug. You can try to make one or buy one.
Can you access the on-screen menu to change the settings? ie: contrast, brightness etc… Have you tried hooking up a video signal thru the composite or s-video plug? The panel defaults to the computer input and you have to manually change it to the video. I’m trying to remember what buttons it was but it was something like you hold down the “input” button and push the “up” or “down” arrow button to get it to change. If there is no “input” button then it is the only other one besides the menu and up & down arrow buttons. Make sure you have the video signal switched to the correct setting based on your signal. NTSC or PAL . I don’t remember if there is an auto setting.
